Introduction to Fontanabria

Juan Camilo
I am Juan Camilo, a Colombian-Icelander and founder of Fontanabria. I am an educator and practitioner of transformative pedagogy and human ecology. I hold a BA in International Studies in Education, a MA in Religious Studies as well as a MA in Cultural Media Communication from the University of Iceland. I am also an international trainer for the Youth program of Erasmus+ with an emphasis on nature connection, integral wellbeing, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, human ecology and ecocentric living.

Magnús Björn
I am Magnús Björn, writer, philosopher, and co-founder of Fontanabria. I have a BA in Political Science and an MA in Philosophy from the University of Iceland and Middlesex University. I started out in journalism but eventually found my way into storytelling. I have written for video games and I am currently working on my third graphic novel. Through my creative work and with Fontanabria, I aim to make complex ideas accessible, focusing on sharing knowledge that helps people better understand and connect with the worlds of nature.

Janis
My name is Janis. I am Italian but I have been living in Iceland for 18 years. I consider Iceland my second home which has been nourished me and healed me with its powerful nature. I am a kindergarten teacher. I’ve been working with kids here in Iceland for fourteen years. I like sharing nature with children, create projects that light imagination, and wonder. I strongly believe that nothing is more important than teaching young generations about the value of nature: its rhythms, the changing seasons, its beauty and mystery.
